A beautiful getaway...

So, this post is a little out of order. We went to our nearest mountains(not near enough)a week ago Friday. Grandma and Grandpa Davies brought their four-wheeler up and they also rented this green trail cruiser. It was the perfect time of year to go to the mountains. I love the colors of fall. The pictures that I took didn't do it justice.

The kids had so much fun. Malachi went exploring and found the caterpillar (shown in the top right). He is definitely a bug lover. He will touch any bug that he finds (but if he plays too long with the bug, it usually ends up dead; luckily this caterpillar fell into a crack and got away alive).

The weather was perfect when we got here. No wind, 70 degrees, just perfect. Two hours later, all of the sudden, the wind picked up and there was a down pour of rain and it was freezing. So, our little haven in the mountains was short lived, but none the less, we had a great time.

By the time we got to the bottom of the mountain, the weather had calmed down and I could not resist stopping here and getting a few pictures. I love this old truck, with the barn in the background (how much more perfect can it get?). And if you look really closely you can see a rainbow up by the roof of the barn. The sun was setting, so there wasn't too much time to get pictures and no one was really in the picture taking mood, but I just had to get a few.

It even looks cool in sepia...

A family picture without Malachi. He absolutely refused to be in this picture (or any pictures by the truck). I felt so bad, because we hardly ever get a picture with all of us together (Don't mind my smeared make-up, remember we were just in a rain storm).

Isn't that a sweet picture of Roger giving his dad a hug? Notice the top right picture...what do you think? Perhaps our family as a future in modeling, huh? Ellie is usually the one that is most willing to be in a picture (I hope she stays that way).

We ended our trip by stopping for a burger. No, Roger did not eat this whole hamburger. We actually split it into four. Can you believe, they actually make four pound burgers here, and there is a picture of a guy who ate one all by himself along with some fries(I don't know if a picture on a wall is worth it).

That was a fun trip. Thanks for inviting us. I almost had as much fun as I did on our Island Park trip. Good grief.

I love your new camera! Those pictures are so flippin cute. Tell Roger I know he could have eaten that whole burger, so don't even try and pretend he couldn't.

Annie! that is huge! I wonder if I would eat it though, maybe ten months pregnant, a little at a time. Your blog page is beautiful, I love the scrap book pages, you're so talented!
